Oak
Hollywood Farm
chestnut oak (Quercus montana), sometimes called "mixed white oak", has unique black streaks that run through the middle of the wood, giving it a distinct, bold and very attractive look. The
northern red oak (Quercus rubra) also has interesting streaks that run through it, and is of particularly high value in woodworking. Occasionally some of the oaks will have very detailed and ornate curls in the grain.
