Information
The Seznec Brothers have been playing music together since they were lads. Cory and Yann Seznec find their inspiration in traditional twenties and thirties folk music; blues, jazz, harlem stride, and more. Their music is rooted in Americana but infused with an array of other styles and themes.
Probably the most important musical influence on the brothers has been the vast library of folk music recorded by Alan Lomax. They love the spontaneity and sincerity of music created by everyday people. That passion for genuine music has led Cory and Yann to a vast array of music, such as West African griot music, Cuban jazz, French hip-hop, and Jamaican mento and reggae. Their music is deeply imbued with the stripped-down, simple beauty of these sounds.

Cory is a guitar, banjo, and harmonica player. He enjoys playing traditional delta blues guitar as well as Appalachian folk music. He uses elements from these and other styles to compose his own songs. He also plays in the Groanbox Boys, a foot-stomping London-based duo.

Yann plays piano, some guitar, upright bass, and percussion. He likes music theory and recording technology, and is currently working as a freelance sound designer as well as musician. He also writes electronic music and has a blog with his projects that can be found at theamazingrolo.net
